Alongside formulation, supervision also considers diagnostic thinking, differential diagnosis and the language required for effective multidisciplinary communication where clinically relevant.

Particular attention is given to unconscious communication, transference and countertransference, and the relational processes that emerge within therapeutic work. We also consider attachment dynamics, defensive organisation and enactments, and how these shape both the therapeutic relationship and clinical decision-making.

Supervision provides an opportunity to think about aspects of clinical work that remain outside conscious awareness, alongside assessment, intervention, risk and therapeutic priorities through an integrative, formulation-led perspective.

My approach is informed by doctoral training in Counselling Psychology at City, University of London, together with postgraduate training in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (Anna Freud Centre), EMDR and Emotion Focused Therapy. While psychodynamic and relational thinking provide the foundation of my practice, I integrate a range of evidence-informed therapeutic approaches where these support formulation, clinical reasoning and intervention.

Clinical supervision is currently offered remotely via secure video consultation, making supervision accessible to helping professionals across the UK.

Supervision for Trainees and Early Career Clinicians

I offer supervision for trainee psychologists and therapists, newly qualified clinicians and practitioners establishing independent practice.

Supervision provides a space to strengthen formulation skills, clinical reasoning and therapeutic thinking while developing confidence in working with complexity. We may think together about assessment, differential diagnosis, formulation, risk management, service pathways and communicating psychological thinking within multidisciplinary teams.

Attention is also given to affect regulation, reflective capacity and the emotional demands of clinical work. This includes thinking about countertransference, professional boundaries, ethical dilemmas and clinician wellbeing. Supervision also provides space to consider the therapist's use of self within the therapeutic relationship, recognising that our own emotional responses often provide valuable clinical information when understood within a relational and psychodynamic framework.

My experience includes coordinating trainee placements within NHS services, supervising both individual clinicians and supervision groups, and supporting trainees, supervisors and placement development. I also contribute to clinical governance, quality assurance and continuing professional development (CPD), bringing experience of supporting clinicians across different stages of professional development and within a range of clinical settings.

Reduced supervision fees are available for trainees.
